We just had the same type of experience yesterday 4/24 with the 53 bus on 8th heading North on Street. The online map said the bus was running one minute early. We were half a block from the stop, saw the bus coming, ran, waved and made eye contact with the driver before he passed us. We kept running to the stop where he stopped to let someone off. We got right to the door and he closed them in our face and pulled away, stopping at the stop sign. We walked up to the door and asked to be let on. Older driver, plump with long grey beard gestured no, absolutely not.
I understand there is probably a policy about stopping for someone when they're not at the bus stop.
I'm also sure that the driver can make the call to pause long enough for someone who has just arrived at the stop when the doors are still open to let them get on. This guy had to try extra hard to make sure that didn't happen. And the "gotta stay on schedule" argument doesn't mean much when you're ahead of schedule and ignoring clients who are arriving at the scheduled time.

Then the driver should make sure he/she isn't leaving early.

The issue of leaving the stop early while clients are attempting to board has not been addressed. It is important not to ignore the main point of both of these cases. We are not focusing on the driver refusing to let us board after leaving the stop. We are complaining about bus drivers leaving their stops early at the cost of clients missing the scheduled ride that we pay for with our collective tax funds - even while the driver sees us at the stop waiting to board. Hiding this mistreatment behind an irrelevant policy is not doing your job appropriately.

You keep closing this case by citing an irrelevant detail. Ignoring riders who are standing at the official stop, shutting doors on them and pulling away is clearly in violation of City policy. Please acknowledge that this is what needs to be addressed.
