58th & Adeline has become the conduit between Market and Martin Luther King Streets; the hub for cars, motorcycles and trucks travelling at speeds varying from 60 to 100mph; the course for commuter traffic.
We have also had six (6) "accidents" in six (6) months. As I mentioned to the others below, six (6) "accidents" in 6 months is no longer an "accident". It is neglect, and neglect is purposeful, even if the sole purpose is abstinence.
We need stop signs at 58th & Adeline.. 60 to 100 miles per hour is unacceptable on a residential street. Please see the video.

To whom it may concern,
Thank you for contacting the City of Oakland with your concerns about roadway safety at 5800
Adeline Street. Your request was entered into the Department of Transportation’s (OakDOT) database
and assigned a reference number of 1100987.
OakDOT receives more than 800 requests from our community each year asking for traffic safety
improvements. We evaluate every one. Because we have more requests and needs than we have
resources to complete detailed studies, design improvements and implement changes, we evaluate each
request by multiple factors to prioritize them. These factors include:
Does the location have a documented history of traffic collisions, and how does that compare to
the similar history of other locations in Oakland? We prioritize work in areas with the highest
rates of traffic collisions, with a focus on collisions that result in severe injuries and fatalities.
Is the location an equity priority? We prioritize work in historically underserved or
underprioritized neighborhoods.
Is the location near a school? Points are added to the score in locations within 500 ft of a school
property.
Each request evaluation results in a score based on the above factors. We are currently working on
requests with a score of 70 or higher. We have evaluated your request, and its score is 19.
Unfortunately, this means we cannot commit to additional action at this time. We will keep your
request in our records for future reference.
We value all input from our community members and regret not being able to address all their
concerns. Thank you again for contacting us, and please continue to keep us informed of your
neighborhood’s needs and priorities.
Sincerely,
OakDOT

Subject: Re: City of Oakland Service Request #1100987
I question any scoring of an area that has had 6 collisions in 6 months and only scores 19 out of 70 with regard to safety needs. I would like a physical surveillance and assessment of the intersection at 5800 Adeline, where we have requested the stop signs be placed.
I would like to be informed of any such action.
There are children, disabled and seniors here. I did my duty as a citizen. I suggest you do yours, because, having done my duty, I will recommend that anyone, who has an incident at this intersection, sue the City of Oakland for as many millions as the law allows. I will serve as a witness and will present the video evidence.

I have done that...to no avail. The people, who have been suffering as a result of the city's negligence, do not appreciate being ignored. The costs of ambulances and City Fire Trucks could be money otherwise well-spent, rather than wasted.
I will pay for the STOP Signs.
It will cost the city nothing. Please tell Libby Schaaf I attempted to contact her.
The number of concerned residents in our group is growing.
